Timely, unfortunately
This is one of those historical fiction books that can either go really right or wrong. That’s not even taking into consideration the fact we’re in the middle of a pandemic currently. I don’t know if I’ll want to read more of this later on, but for now it’s a little on the nose. I hope it’s not going to end up being something intentionally heart-tugging or ‘making a point’, because that’s where hist-fict can start to lose me. I think it’s off to a good start though, and I’ll be looking for this one whenever the final pub date is decided!
