Interesting and Unique Historical Fiction
The Orphan Collector is set in Philadelphia in 1918 during the outbreak of the Spanish flu. The story focuses on Pia, the daughter of German immigrants, and Bernice, a grieving mother who has just lost her son to the flu. The novel alternates between their two points of view.
I found the First Look to be very interesting! I enjoy reading historical fiction, especially ones set in a time period I don't know much about. The author did a good job of bringing the city and characters to life. I am curious to know what happens to the characters and would like to read more.
