I cannot wait to read this book!

Could this book be more timely? Wish it's pub date were here. I became fascinated by the spread of the Spanish Flu in 1918 when reading another Bookish First, As Bright As Heaven, and in the days of the Corona Virus my thoughts keep going back to the cobbled streets of Philadelphia in 1918. I am captivated by the set up of The Orphan Collector and was delighted to see photographs from the era. It's fascinating as we listen to the news today of constant reminders to wash our hands, that a century ago they had to deal with a society of spitters (tobacco!). The character development in the opening 50+ pages is fantastic as it has all of the ingredients for a great historical read.
