Elegant historic fiction with a harrowing premise.

The description of this book immediately caught my attention- very relevant right now and the storyline seems intense. This preview definitely follows through on those expectations with elegant writing that seems well-researched. The heroine at the center of the story is conveyed via third person perspective and has a youthful voice that I think could lead to very emotional moments later in the story. Intrigued to continue.
