First time horror/gore read for me. 3.5? 4? not a horror gore gal but love the native rep. Months after reading this I am still thinking about it. I think about the undertones, the gore, the characters, the world building AH. It took be a good while to get through it but I think that it is a book meant to be consumed over an extended period. I think there are so many details that I could have glossed over had I read any faster. Did I read slowly because I was bored? no not at all. Did I read slowly because I had to re-read some parts because I was somewhat confused/grossed out/couldnt believe what I had just read? Yes, yes absolutely.
Overall would totally recommend to those who can stomach some detailed gore. I need more peeps to discuss this story with yall! Get out there and read it - if anything to support some native authors and own voices stories!
