So creepy and thought provoking
I really loved this and give it 4.5 stars but I'm rounding up. This is so creepy, chilling, and atmospheric.
This book rotates through multiple POVs, and I will say that for me Lewis' was by far the most captivating. His emotions and regrets really connected for me and I loved watching his incremental journey that went through his head and what happened to him.
Honestly I lost a little interest once we moved away from his POV because I felt that that was when the big reveal happened, and I enjoyed the book more when I was in more suspense, but the rest of it is still really good.
Stephen Graham Jones weaves in real world horrors along with the otherworldly horrors and I think that's what makes this book so poignant. I feel like listening to this book was an Experience with a capital E.
I definitely recommend this book if you are even a little interested in horror!
CW: death, animal death, gore, substance abuse
