I highly recommend The Only Good Indians be read as a buddy read or with a friend. I could have used someone to chat with.

In October I read Cujo and I was slightly disappointed. The Only Good Indians is much closer to what I expected Cujo to be. I don't want to spoil much in my review, but we have an entity out for revenge.

Four Blackfeet teenagers are doing what teenagers do, ignoring the rules, tradition, and consequences. The Only Good Indians flashes forward 10 years and follows and adult Lewis who has since left the reservation, gotten married, and disconnected from his friends. Slowly Stephen Graham Jones tells us what happened all those years ago and where the boys are now.

Stephen Graham Jones writing does have a unique writing style and it took me awhile to get used to. I found myself doubling back to re-read, but I eventually got used to it.
