After hearing all the hype about this book, I was very excited to read it! I love the horror genre and had heard this one was dark and gory, which is right up my alley. The Only Good Indians was a quick read divided into three parts. I was easily able to fly through it in two or three days.

Unfortunately, this one just fell short for me in the end. I was bored and uninterested for almost the entire story and never felt any emotion toward it. The plot moved along, but none of it was exciting or intriguing to me, although I tried to find appeal in it. Certain parts were confusing, and I had to go back and reread paragraphs because I lost track of what was happening. When I read horror, I want to feel spooked by certain elements, if not the entire book. I didn't feel any of that while reading this book. I know The Only Good Indians is loved by many people; it just didn't work for me!
