This is now my third book I've read by Stephen Graham Jones. His writing is definitely not for everyone but he sure does mesh well with me! I really love his unusual use of horror scenes. They are very graphic without being over the top gory. I feel like this can be a very hard topic to convey without being over the top. This particular book was a slow start for me but then I found myself filly emerged and needing to know what was going to happen next. For this one I did decide to go the audiobook route when reading. I really enjoyed the narrator and the style they used to tell the story. If you are a horror fan I do recommend you check out something from this author. This particular one was right in the middle for me. I enjoyed My Heart is a Chainsaw slightly more but this one was good as well. I liked the use of Native American culture and beliefs in this book.
