I've got chills
I've got chills. This is something new and exciting in horror! It's great to see a variety of voices and a variety of experiences expanding the tradition. And while I'm a fan of the horror genre and that's what is attracting me, I think the premise and the style have tremendous cross-over potential, to appeal to those readers who might not be initially drawn to horror. The narrative is fast-paced and very modern, dropping right into what appears to be a contemporary drama, but then does a quick 180 and becomes something entirely otherworldly. Jones uses lots of visual detail to give the reader a clear sense of inhabiting the world he's created. The narrative voice is intriguing and draws the reader into the story quickly.
