I find myself drawn to horror books in general and I don’t like knowing too much when I go into them. For this one I only really knew the genre. :)
This is a really interesting story of a few teenagers who break the rules by hunting elk in an area where they aren’t allowed to. For the rest of their days they are haunted by their deeds. The really interesting part of this book is that you could entirely interpret it two different ways. First, you could interpret it as a fantasy/horror tale (and there is a lot to support this!). Alternatively, you can interpret this far less literally and just that the actions are haunting them (almost bordering on literary fiction). I think this dichotomy is actually my favorite part of this whole book. I could see this being studied in a college course where two sides could argue their sides.
