It's hard to write a brief description that won't somehow spoil something for the reader. Childhood friends who grow up on a reservation together are haunted by (and hunted by) a mistake they made years before. I'm not a horror fan. I don't do creepy. I'm not sure what I was getting into when I picked up this book, but it definitely wasn't what I found.

That being said, I do love literature and a quality story. But, as someone who doesn't even enjoy the genre, I still think it was extremely well written and I would recommend this book to anyone. The author knows how to turn a phrase, build a plot, and suck the reader in. There is a beauty in how he uses language that defies the subject. If you enjoy books that give you goosebumps, even better, but the quality of the prose is something that shouldn't be missed. I couldn't put this down even if I had wanted to.
