This is such an eerie start to a novel! It is a classic trope of horror to have animals act strangely as the first sign of danger, and clearly with the stories of Ricky and Lewis, there is going to be some very terrible repercussions potentially happening and what I think will be very interesting is uncovering just what is going on. The writing and descriptions do a really good job of setting down a very curious mood and leave you a little uneasy as to what’s going on, making the story that just more creepy in presentation. I definitely feel there is going to be a wild ride here and it would be very interesting to see what else besides the elk might start going wrong!
