The author paints a dark and gritty environment right away. The excerpt didn't give away much about the plot yet, but the mood drew me in. I'm interested in Lee and Peta's lives, they seem like interesting characters based on the little bit that was shared. But mostly I really enjoy horror, this already has a great atmosphere, I'd love to read more!
