This book follows Liv Arias and Finn Dorsey as they reconnect 12 years after they survive a school shooting that killed the majority of their class mates. Both Liv and Finn are busy trying to move on with their lives and also come to terms with what had happened to them all those years ago. Through reconnecting they both help each other through the things they thought they had moved past.
From the start you can feel the chemistry between Liv and Finn as well as the unfinished business they carry around. You see how Liv feels like she has let down her younger self by not accomplishing what she had wished to accomplish. You can see how Finn has thrown himself so much into his work that it consumes him. I loved watching Liv and Finn help each other grown into the people they want to be. Finn helped Liv push herself out of her comfort zone and Liv helped Finn realize what it was like to be human again. Overall I greatly enjoyed this book.
