The Ones Who Got Away is a book that will take you on quite the wild ride, one that delves both into past and present to display a traumatic event from both sides of the equation and leads to more questions as you explore the case and what has happened because of it.

I found myself lost in the pages, lost in the emotions evoked as the characters dealt with the past in their own ways, some haunted more than others. The author tackled a difficult subject and spun it in an amazing fashion to deliver a uniquely powerful story.

Liv and Finn were two characters who drew me in, curious to see how they had changed and how they would confront the memories of the past. It was interesting to see how they had both dealt with what they saw had been their roles at the time of the incident.

Roni Loren does an amazing job blending all of the emotions, the turmoil, the pain and the questions left unanswered, all while also delivering a second chance for these characters.
