I'm not a huge romance reader, but I tend to enjoy this genre when I do read it. Those who think that romance novels are all fluff need to pick up books like this one- yes, there's plenty of steam, but the background on the two main characers, Finn and Liv, and how their experiences as survivors of a school shooting shaped their lives and relationship, gives this book a weight that those who scoff at the genre might be surprised by. Liv's friendships with other women who survived the shooting, and her passion for and dedication to her career are also great additions to this story. Finn and Liv are a couple that readers won't be able to help but cheer for, and I really look forward to the stories of the other survivors in this series.
