From the first page, this book had me hooked!
I couldn't put it down; the author brings you down memory lane to a time when disaster had hit and Liv and Finn were traumatized, and they had hid in fear in that tiny closet after hearing Fin's date yell gun, gun!
Meeting up several years later, the characters are so much better than I should have been. This is a second chance.
What should have been a nice prom night for two young teenagers turned into them locking themselves in a closet to argue, instead making out, and then fleeing for their lives when Finn's date yells "Gun!" As a result, Finn abandons Olivia in the closet to assist his real date.
These flashbacks are present in the novel, just as they are in the minds of the characters.
Things were done a little too neatly in the present for my tastes, but I was fully invested in their tale. This one was fantastic, and I can't wait to read the next in the book.
The tale is heartbreakingly good and grips your heart.
