I really like Roni Loren and she has convinced me to read outside of my comfort zone in the past. So even if the idea of a romance about the survivors of a high school shooting did not sound overly appealing I knew I was going to at least give it a shot and I am so glad that I did. This book was nothing like I was afraid it was going to be. I loved the friendships the female survivors forged even though they hardly knew each other before the most traumatic event that brought them together. I loved the focus on their strength and healing. I could also relate in a small way to taking stock of your adult life and comparing it to the aspirations of your 18 year old self. Then of course there was the romance. I love Liv and Finn's backstory and connection. Things in the the present were all handled a bit too tidily for my tastes but I was fully invested in their story. I really loved this one and cannot wait for the next in the series.
