Thank you @bookishfirst + @fiercereads for the #gifted copy.

THE ONES WE’RE MEANT TO FIND is a beautiful novel inside and out. Seriously, this is some of the most gorgeous cover art I’ve ever seen. The story follows two sisters—Cee stuck on an abandoned island with a bot as her sole companion. Cee has no recollection of how she got there and her only memory is of her sister Kasey who she is determined to get back to. Kasey is a STEM prodigy living in one of the last eco-cities on our dying planet. She is dealing with the grief and uncertainty of Cee’s disappearance and decides to retrace her sister’s steps.

There is so much to look forward to in this story—a tale of survival, an intriguing mystery, mind-blowing plot twists, an unexpected romance and a phenomenal ending. I loved the world-building and tech-forward setting that revolved around climate change! It was brilliant, incredibly complex and it’s plausible that our world will look similar in the future. The characters were wonderfully drawn and the relationships were realistic. He skillfully weaves science fiction and environmental issues together to craft a powerful, thrilling story about environmental awareness, love, sisterly bonds and human nature. I cannot wait to see what He writes next!

Bonus: @joanhewrites is a local author!
