This book was such a pleasant surprise! I started it over the summer and set it aside because I wasn’t getting into it, and then picked it up again a few days ago and got completely sucked in. This was nothing like what I expected in the best way possible. I keep waffling between a 4 star and a 5 star rating so let’s call it a 4.5. Please read this book and talk to me about how heartbreaking and beautiful and fascinating it is because I need someone to gush with.

Cee and Kasey were both delightfully unique characters, especially Kasey, whom I've never come across another character quite like her in literary fiction before. This book deals with some interesting topics like what it means to be human and global warming/environmental catastrophes (which, quite frankly, bummed me out). The twist is one I never saw coming, but one I thoroughly enjoyed because it truly made me think. This one is going to stick with me for a long time.
