I finished The Ones We're Meant to Find last night, and I'm completely in awe of Joan He's talent. Her writing is immersive, and the prose is beautiful. The Ones We're Meant to Find is complex, clever, and tackles themes climate change, the consequences of unchecked capitalism, existentialism, and hope versus misanthropy. I felt the pacing to be a little off, but once the Big Reveal happened, everything made sense. I think this is a book that needs to be reread, again and again — I can't imagine how many things I missed out on during my first read. While I significantly enjoyed Cee's chapters — and Cee — more than Kasey's, I found both sisters to be interesting and compelling to read about. I'm not a huge Sci-Fi reader, and loved this introduction to the genre! Highly recommend!
