This book is interesting and thought-provoking from the get-go, as readers are thrown into Cee's survival efforts on a wholly abandoned island. Once Kasey's point of view is introduced, there is a bit of a disconnect as you try to reconcile the two storylines and figure out what's really happening.

Whatever you're thinking, you'll probably still be surprised once all the pieces of the puzzle are put together! But along the way, you'll get two equally action-packed, engaging stories-Cee's survival narrative and efforts to get back to her sister, and Kasey's attempts to figure out what really happened when her sister went missing.

I think the sci-fi aspects of the book are interesting as well-the technology put into place because of the devastating effects of climate change seems well thought out, and nothing was too confusing or jargony to understand. I also think that, while this is obviously fiction and in the future, the climate disasters are super relevant to life today.

All in all, I enjoyed puzzling through this one and, while I had some inklings of what was happening by the time all was revealed, it was still a delight getting to that point!
