First of all, this cover is one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen! It’s not only gorgeous, it effectively showcases the tone of this novel, which is haunting, painful, beautiful, and mysterious all at the same time!
This story follows two sister who have been separated for years and long to be reunified. The world in which they exist is masterfully created and sucked me in from the start. There is a striking difference in the worlds that the sisters find themselves in and the author does a fantastic job at showing the reader I’m the significance of each sister’s roles in them. The twists and turns in the story were both unexpected and entirely necessary to do the story justice. Joan He wrote a beautiful story that will stay with for a long time. This is my fist of her works and I plan to read anything else that she has written and will write in the future!
