The cover is gorgeous but in review of the other first impressions, it distracts the reader from the raw elements and futurism that lay within its pages. In this excerpt Joan He bravely gives a glimpse with Cee's character how she is surviving deserted on an island, how brilliant she is to know how to build a robot, to fix pipes for plumbing, and "scavenging" for the very parts of a boat that she wrecked in order to leave. In Kay's character we see an introvert whose whole world is her sister, she doesn't care about frivolities of life , she would be fine possibly deserted with her sister, with no carbon footprint, using the land as intended . I am thoroughly invested in these characters, this is brilliant writing destined for Sci Fi Nebula or Locus awards! I cannot wait to read this story.
