Non fiction is not my go to genre. In fact, it is the one that I reach for the least. With that being said, I really enjoyed learning about these nine incredible women and their fight for survival and escape. The author included pictures and a brief description of each woman at the beginning of the book, which was very much appreciated. It helped, not only to keep the women straight in my mind, but also made me feel like I knew them as I was reading.

With that being said, I did not like the writing style as much. It seemed kind of all over the place, and made it difficult to follow at times. I felt like it took away from the story a bit. Even though I was invested in the lives of the women, the writing distracting and made it difficult to pick up after I had put it down. That was just me though. That could be common in non fiction, so I am sure there are several people who would appreciate it.
