This story follows Helene and eight other women through their days in World War Two, and their escape from the forced labor camps. Throughout this book you get to meet these nine amazing women, and follow their true stories from the beginning of the war through the end of the war and the disbursement of the concentration camps.
I loved this book so much! Sometimes I would lose my flow of reading due to the change of POV, but otherwise this book was fantastic!
This was such an apt and sincere recounting of the trials and terrors that these brave women faced. While I was reading I was immersed in the era completely and learned many new details of the many different camps the women were transported to and from. A very enlightening account that I believe everyone should read. Wonderfully researched and recounted by the family members of survivors.
