Stories about WW2 always hit me hard and draw me in because even though it is nonfiction it feels like something that could only possibly happen in story. The horrible things that happened to these people rips my heart apart and this story dives into 9 women, who even though they could die from it, chose to try and help those unfortunate people.

I like that the stories contain photos. I don't often read books with photos but the ones that are added paints such a vivid picture and adds such much emotion and depth to the story.

I like that the book starts out by listing the 9 women and giving a brief overview of who they were. I think this allows the reader to get their mind ready for what they are about to read and gives some needed background information.

The story is well written and even though it's sad it's so moving to hear of what they did to help. I think that this book will shine a light on maybe some overlooked individuals who deserve credit.

I also think that the cover is so unique and is the only possible choice for this book. I love that the colors are light and neutral making it all blend so well. Even though there is a lot going on in this cover I don't mind it like I normally do with other books. I love all the details of the city and the picture of each woman. It fits so well with the book and its plot and isn't a cover easily forgotten.
