This is an absolutely heart-pounding and incredible true story. I am amazed at these young women, all of them under 30, who defied the odds and made a break for freedom against all odds. I have always been interested in the true stories of bravery and perseverance that have come out of WWII, but the fact that this is the author's great-aunt adds so much more to the story.
