I didn't "buy" this book, and I thought I unclicked to be in the drawing, yet I received a copy of the book. Nevertheless, I attempted to read it. The writing for some of the stories was okay, but other stories contained unexpected, and unwanted, material, and so this ended up being a book that I jumped around in and did not finish. I do enjoy supporting new authors, and I applaud these writers for putting their work out there. However, in the end, this book just wasn't for me, though I'm sure it does have an audience. I did appreciate the fact that the stories are short stories, so for the ones I read and enjoyed, they were quick and easy to fit into my busy schedule. It is a unique collection, as I don't recall ever seeing another book that contains short stories that are only written by African authors. It's nice to see new authors getting out there in the publishing world.
