I thought this was a very compelling read, it kept me intrigued until the very last page. I was unaware that this book was part of a series before reading but I feel it was great to read without reading the others first, just made me want to read the others knowing how good this one was. I haven't read much about ancient Egypt so this one opened my eyes and has me wanting to read and learn more. Following Hui and the things he endures after the heartache of losing his father and the life as he had always known. Being accused of his fathers murder and finding out who had actually done it and knowing life will never be the same. Hui was able to escape and wanted revenge for his father. I wish that we could have had more written with the different groups he was with after his escape I feel we got just enough to keep the story going at a good pace but it would have been interesting to read more about each one. Overall I felt this book was well written and very good. Would read again.
