I read non-fiction to escape and don't like to put a lot of thought into what I am reading. This story kept my head spinning throughout and that detracted from my enjoyment. There were a large number of significant players in this story and nearly all of them were double agents and you never knew which side anyone was on so it was quite confusing to wade through. Even the Russian agents could be representing two different factions of Russian politics.
With all the talk about the Russian election meddling, the reason behind the plot of the book is quite believable. In the hotbed of political differences here in America, it doesn't take much "pot-stirring" to get things to the point where they can boil over. It is scary to see how easily we can be manipulated through social media and fake news.
