Van Lustbader’s analogies and descriptions in the first paragraph alone, and especially the first two sentences, instantly grabbed me; his style is astounding and he paints such a detailed picture of the settings and the characters. That being said, I also like that there is a lot of dialogue used as a means to tell the events of the story.
