I haven't read Mr. Lustbader's other works, so I can't compare them to this First Look, but ultimately I wasn't impressed by these first few chapters. The most compelling part for me was the very last paragraph, but I think it was buried a little too deep in all of the other intrigue. Also, Evan Ryder seems like a canned character. She reads like a man wrote her, and it shouldn't be that evident, but it is. I'll give Lustbader's other works a chance, but this one felt like a miss for me.
