I just finished reading Susan Crandall's The Myth of Perpetual Summer and really enjoyed this book. In my opinion, it's a fantastic summer read to crack open on a porch on a breezy evening, watching a thunderstorm roll in, with a cold glass of iced tea in your hand. Set in the deep south of Mississippi, this was a sweet Southern coming-of-age story set in the 1960-70’s about Tallulah James’ dysfunctional family full of secrets dating back decades. Those secrets gradually begin to come to light and bring the truth of it all to the surface. I really liked this book (especially Tallulah herself) and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves complicated family sagas, historical fiction, and slow summer days in the deep south. I received an ARC from BookishFirst in exchange for my honest review.
