Southern Tale of a Dysfunctional Family
I love a good Southern dysfunctional family tale and this novel fits. After fleeing a difficult childhood to live her adult life in California, Tallulah returns to the south when her brother has been put in jail. She stays with her grandmother whose health is failing.
When growing up Tallulah's mother was seldom around. She was always off fighting for the cause of the moment. Tallulah's father suffered from mental illness. We see how Tallulah and her siblings all react differently to this difficult upbringing.
With her return home, Tallulah is forced to address her past and finds more secrets revealed even some held by her grandmother. This is a well written story with great characters. I loved it!
