At first I wasn't sure about this book, because I normally read mystery fiction. However the strong characters and history bring this novel along alive and it moves quickly. Throw in some murder and it becomes even more of an interesting book. I thought the detailed description of the time and characters was excellent. It will be a great book to read for anyone who like fiction. It is definitely a story of good versus evil and Tallulah remains strong throughout which is a great life lesson as well. If you are looking for a great read to escape the summer heat, I would recommend The Myth of Perpetual Summer, and now I have added Whistling Past the Graveyard to my to be read pile, I hope you give this one a chance and enjoy it as much as I did.
