Finally, a book that kept me riveted from page one to the very end. There is so much emotional investment for the reader between the pates of The Myth of Perpetual Summer. Author Susan Crandall has captured the angst of the middle child trying to hold a fractured family together. I found myself wanting to reach into the text and give Tallulah comfort and reassurance. The mystery of the family secret that runs through every chapter just keeps you wanting to know what happened to set off the complete destruction of this family. I love the descriptive language that makes you physically feel the old South. And the tragic events along with the deeply rooted tradition of Tallulah's childhood will have your crying for her and cheering for her all at the same time. A true story of survival.
