For this review, I am focusing on the first two chapter's preview provided to me by Bookish First.

I really am enjoying this story thus far. The story fluctuates between present and past (as identified by date ranges in chapter titles) so that we, the reader, can follow the current action, but can do so with a better understanding based on the context of what has happened in the past to shape the future.

The storyline in not only not 100% linear, but it also appears that this will be a story that slowly unfolds to get all of the chatacters to the point in life that they are at when it's announced a murder conviction is on the line and perhaps not entirely unexpected by the protagonist.

I an very interested to see what will continue to unfold in this tale of disjointed friendships, broken families, and southern charm.
