I've enjoyed Historical and especially Christian Historical before, but tend to be super picky, and find myself bored easily if there isn't something about the story that draws me in. In this one, I might have been more interesting in the setting and historical aspects the most, but the characters were interesting enough to keep me reading, and I enjoyed the tone and style used to tell the story.
While not my favorite read, and it does start a little slow, I do plan to read more of this series. I liked the overall story well enough, and am interested to see how the series progresses. I loved that this one takes place on a ship, and the culture and time period was fun to read about. I'm looking forward to reading similar books soon!
