Historical
I'm pretty sure I've read every book in the Daughters of the Mayflower series and have enjoyed each one. The Mayflower Bride does a wonderful job of meshing actual historical events into this fictional tale and I found much of the information very enlightening.
The narration has a Little House on the Prairie type of feel to me (that's the best way I can explain it) which is a plus - giving it a richness and certain type of innocence of days gone by.
This is the first book in the series and gives a good example of the feel or atmosphere of the entire series - although each story has its own author and unique theme.
Perhaps my favorite thing about this type of fiction is the educational aspect. I learned so much.
