My first impression was not good. I don't like books that start with a glossary of terms and a list of characters. I have always found that to be a bit insulting. Characters should be written well enough that they are memorable with a listing and the reader should be able to look up any words they are unfamiliar with. If there are so many that a glossary is needed then the book has failed at being entertaining. Entering into the story, I find a typical fearful and weak heroine. The story itself wasn't bad but I found nothing that I truly enjoyed and left me with no desire to read the rest of the book. I am sure there is an audience for the story but I am not part of that audience.
