Having audited Ancient Greek in college (and basically failing it since I barely showed up and learned very little), I have a strong appreciation for those academics who can read and speak it fluently. This thriller caught my eye for 2 reasons: it intertwines Greek mythology in its narrative, and the review copy is highly coveted in Facebook groups I am a part of.

Group therapist, Mariana, returns to her Alma Mater to support her niece (a current student there) after the violent death of her roommate. Struggling to cope with the death of her husband which happened last year, Mariana attempts to turn her attention to solving this murder mystery as an amateur. She is certain that Professor Fosca and his not-so-secret society of Maidens are responsible for this girl's death. Can she prove it, however, before more girls start disappearing?

I loved the history and Greek elements that were present throughout this book! The characters' emotions felt realistic and their actions justifiable. The reader, however, is left to discover the secrets and motives that lurk beneath the surface. The ending didn't completely blow me away and there weren't any shocking twists, but I did enjoy the small surprises and suspense.

Intriguing, Well-paced, and Unique, this is a great thriller to add to your TBR list.

Thank you, Celadon Books, for a review copy!
