Mariana is grieving and has been for a year. She can't throw away any of her deceased husband's possessions and though she is a group therapist, it isn't bringing her any joy. She has a disturbing patient who is on the verge of stalking her and this is affecting everyone else in the group. She gets a call from her niece who is away at college, and even though she doesn't really want to venture away from the house where all her happy memories are she reluctantly says she will come. Because Zoe's friend from school is missing, and a body has just been found.

When she arrives she jumps into figuring out what is going on and immediately suspects Professor Edward Fosca. Hes got a group of elite students in a special "group" and they start dying. As Mariana races to find evidence of what is going on, she turns to people from her past and finds out that her perfect life isn't really what she thought it was. I figured out one of the twists at the end but the other one took me by surprise.
