I enjoyed THE MAIDENS even more than SILENT PATIENT. brief synopsis: Mariana Andros returns to university after her niece’s friend is murdered. Mariana recently lost her husband Sebastian. Mariana is a dynamic, likable, and sympathetic character. I love author Alex Michaeledes’s writing- he even writes women well. he writes women way better than Dan Brown writes women, which is an understatement. interwoven with Ancient Greek myths and tragedies. the ending of THE MAIDENS is unexpected and unpredictable. I am amazed that both of the bookstagram hits of the summer — THE MAIDENS and MALIBU RISING — were both amazing to me and met my high expectations. Theo from SILENT PATIENT even makes a couple of significant appearances in THE MAIDENS!!
