If you enjoy Greek methodology, dry professor talk, and extremely uncomfortable twists- this book is for you.

I didn’t hate this book. The twist at the end wasn’t at all what I expected- not unlike my experience reading the silent patient. I found it challenging to stay engrossed in the story.

The journey getting there included a lot of methodology references I’m still not sure were worthy of being included in the story. To an extent, I get it. It helped build the characters and ultimately lead to the twist. You can tell there was eminence research that went into writing the novel and it was extremely thorough. I couldn’t help but feel like having a degree in Methodology prior to reading the book.

I found myself rooting for the protagonist and mourning along side her for the loss of her husband. We were given an adequate amount of closure for the story without many noticeable plot holes.

All in all, it’s a good book. I don’t anticipate reading it again but I won’t recommend someone not read it.
