I really enjoyed The Silent Patient from the author and was highly anticipating this book. The Maidens did not disappoint. This book was an amazing read. It had me hooked from the first page. I really enjoyed the gothic and atmospheric tone it of the book. The overall whole of the book had a very creepy and unsettling feel to it. I loved that feeling. I never was sure which way the author was going to go. It had me guessing all the through the book. The mystery was very well written and the reveal at the end left me open mouthed and speechless. I did not see that ending coming at all. I really like the writing style of the author. It is very easy to read and get lost in. I look forward to future books from Alex Michaelides. I highly recommend this book! Go pick this book up today, you won't be disappointed. Alex Michaelides is a very talented author.
