The main character is unlikable and just terrible. The different point of views were hard to keep apart. DONT PICK THIS UP! I’ve felt more tension between me and a ringing phone. It really took the “thrill” out of thriller and left me just with “…errr…?”'s go straight to the AWFULNESS:

I swear, dude, Mr. Michaelides, for the love of all that is holy, CEASE AND DESIST writing from the female perspective because you SUCK AT IT.
Once again, the main character is a therapist. A pretty lousy one, just like that dud Theo from A Silent Patient. Lucky me, he makes an unwanted cameo in this book. I wanted to like this as it was one of my most anticipated books of the year. It just didn't work for me. I still highly recommend The Silent Patient! Which is much better than this book.
