3.5 stars rounded up. I was really looking forward to this book after loving The Silent Patient. This book had me guessing right up until the reveal due to a wide cast of elusive characters. Character descriptions are Michaelides' strength and it had me skeptical and weary of everyone. The introduction of many male characters right off the bat however was a little overwhelming and I found it hard to keep track of them all. I enjoyed the flow of the story with short, thrilling chapters. The Maidens concept at Cambridge was an interesting one (I definitely felt intimidated by them!) and I appreciated the Greek history/mythology that aligned with the story. The ending was a bit rushed for my liking. Finally, I loved how Michaelides found ways to connect to The Silent Patient that didn't feel forced and felt natural to the story. Overall a great thriller that will be popular with fans this summer!
