I was not sure what to expect from this second from him and never having read The Silent Patient I highly anticipated what this book had to offer and it does not disappoint.

The Maidens is full of Greek research and laid out history of the islands and landscape. Michaelides does his work and sketches the scenes boldly as we make our way across campus or up a steep Greek island road. Character development is raw and fascinating for each individual who plays an important role in this tale.
